Is there more security?

I recently deployed BitNami OwnCloud within Microsoft Azure and I intend to make it private, for my sole use. As such, I was wondering if it would be possible to add:

1. Basic HTTP Authentication prior to user logging in. I tried this and seems to not work.
2. Also, files were moved around so much, I can't even tell how to add a SSH-RSA key to my server (plain text is subject to brute-force, happened to me once and was not nice). So, how do I add my own key to the cloud-based server? I intend to use one key to multiple servers, that is.
