I recently deployed a Bitnami stack on EC2 for Magento. After deletion of the original Magento install I do a fresh install of the latest version in the web root. When following the install wizard I keep getting "Database connection error" despite using a correct user account, password, port, database etc that have been verified by connecting from the console and an SQL client.
Am I missing something here with regards to the Bitnami stack? I have used Magento on EC2 for a long time and never had this problem before with other AMIs.
