I have installed Moodle on an EC2 micro-server instance. The problem is, I can't get Moodle to send emails to users as it normally would for forum posts and sign-up confirmations - it won't send email for any purpose in fact.
I tried to use Moodle's in-built phpmailer - does not work.
I have tried to use my gmail account as the SMTP server - does not work.
I have run the CRON job successfully but it just returns errors and no email is ever sent.
Has anybody successfully configured Moodle to send emails? Thanks for your help!
