FTP error- Getting "username/password incorrect for '- Wordpress multisite Stack

Hi

I have installed BitNami Wordpress Multisite 3.5.1 (x64) stack on a Ubuntu PC.

I have also set up VSFTP as per instructions here--> http://wiki.bitnami.com/Virtual_Appliances_Quick_Start_Guide#How_to_install_a_FTP_server.3f

Now, in the above page, this is the data given for FTP account details--

The FTP credentials for the application will be the following: Hostname: localhost Port: 21 Username: bitnami Password: bitnami user password in your machine FTP Root: /opt/bitnami/apps/your_application/htdocs

However- I get this message in Wordpress-- Username/Password incorrect for bitnami

Then I thought that the username is the one I specified as WP multisite admin when installing Wordpress MultiSite stack-- so I tried with that user as well-- and I got the same error message.

Please let me know how to resolve the above issue.
