Wordpress Multisite - Subdirectory Redirect Loop

I've set up a Wordpress Multisite (3.5.1) through the Bitnami stack. By default, Bitnami seems to set this up with subdomains for sub-sites, however I need to have subfolders.

If I change the wp-config.php file to define( 'SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL', false ); this does allow me to create sub-sites, but it creates a redirect loop for the dashboards of sub-sites. Additionally, I can view sub-sites but it appears that themes/plugins are all broken.

I've tried a lot of solutions and thus far, none have worked. There is apparently no Bitnami documentation for when a user wants to use subdirectories (only subdomains or different domains altogether). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
