change localhost or IP to a servername for accessing redmine.

Hi,

I have installed redmine stack and am able to access the site when i type "localhost:8080" or IP ...:8080 , but is there a way i can change IP or localhost to a name(myredminetest.com)?

Do i have to modify the system's "/etc/hosts" file or is the change something internal to apache of bitnami redmine stack? How do i configure this change? Could some one advise?
