Bitnami Concrete5 Default PHP Mail Function

Hi.

Using concrete5 CMS 5.6.1-0 VMware

I'm trying to use a the Forms block on Concrete5 and there is an option to send email notification.

Concrete5 is configured to use the "Default PHP Mail Function" and I don't get any notification.

I've checked the apache logs and Concrete5 calls for "sendmail" and it looks like its not installed.

Tried to set to external email server and it doesn't work either. (no logs on apache)

What do I have to do to make email notification to work? I don't understand why a Concrete5 solution doesn't have email working out of the box...

Do I need to install sendmail?
