I have installed the BitNami Joomla stack 3.0.2-0 on a Mac computer running OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.2 . I was glad that I have found a replacement for XAMPP (which refused to let me access MySQL) and MAMP (which had the same problem). The BitNami stack runs as far as I can judge, well.
But it is impossible at present to start and develop a website in the localhost area. Accessing the application through the admin panel succeeds every now and then, but easily and swiftly develop a website is not done. Because pages and apps cannot be addressed in the address line in the top of the screen. One can call a page, it starts with 127.0.0.1:8080/ and then the rest of the address fades away and lets you wait to eternity. It seems to be intermittent because every now and then is does do the job, giving me hope, but after a few page changes it halts again. How can I solve this because developing a website will take forever this way.
